Illustration acts as an outlet allowing my creativity to flourish. My illustration approach begins like any great ARTIST: FROM A FEELING. WHEN COMING UP WITH AN IDEA, I LET IT MARINATE in my mind FOR DAYS OR EVEN MONTHS; ANY CONCEPT REQUIRING A GREAT LENGTH OF TIME TO PERFECT IS ONE WORTH PURSUING.

Based out of NYC, Stinky Balboa is an illustrator obsessed with transmogrifying the figure and creating narrative pieces captivating audiences.

“Between analog and digital, I don’t have a preference. I choose whatever medium holds the potential to best execute my mental composition. Digital art can’t replicate the raw authentic feel of analog because of the multitude of options, but the limitations experienced with analog sometimes requires a virtual tweak.”

“For me art isn’t just about pretty pictures or people paying for your name attached to a concrete fingerprint. It’s a journey, a lifelong exploration about harnessing a gift and cultivating it into a skill, allowing the world to see who you are inside. Art is a confession of an individual who reflects their private life in canvas, paint, or graphite. Art is a strong being willing to show human vulnerability with others. As an illustrator, I view it as my job to not only make art but act as a historian, philosopher, and storyteller as I try to understand myself and the world around and before me. My aim is to hopefully inspire the next generation of illustrators, animators, cartoonists, painters, sculptors, dreamers, or any artistically inclined person to understand their gift will get them to where they want to be and that the sky is not the limit and space is not the final frontier. It’s the imagination that evolves infinitely.”
